Job Description:

ENGEO is looking for Experienced and Entry Level Construction Field Representatives & Special Inspector candidates for 2021.


Position Summary: You will represent ENGEO on various job sites throughout the Tri-Valley/Bay Area ensuring the highest quality service and engineered standards are met as defined. The responsibilities include performing QA/QC field observations while work is in progress following design reports and documents, soil sampling using a gauge to test soil and rock materials to determine moisture-density content, and dropping off samples for laboratory testing of soil and rock.


During the testing and observation process, accurate and detailed documentation is gathered and communicated via a smartphone/Surface laptop. T&O Reports are due daily to Construction Services Managers for review.


Experience and Skills:

Valid certificates:

  • Nuclear Density Gauge - required - will train if needed
  • ACI Field Testing Technician - preferred - will support training reimbursement if needed
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete - bonus - will support training reimbursement if needed
  • ICC Post Tensioning - bonus - will support training reimbursement if needed 
  • Valid California drivers' license
  • Willing to use own field vehicle for the job - daily reimbursement available
  • Show proof of field vehicle insurance - upon hire
  • Clean DMV record - 5 years
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Willing to travel
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Strong basic algebraic math skills
  • Ability to read grading plans
  • Familiar with construction standards, terminology and methods
  • Willing to work OT and weekends as needed by the project/contractor demands
  • Comfortable working alone on jobs sites, with a practical and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of occupational safety
  • Strong desire to serve internal PMs, clients and contractors

Education: High School Diploma required - A.A or B.S. in Earth Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus.
